Food411 checks out the 4th Annual Big Apple BBQ Block Party

 

The first step was the strategy – we split up, each waiting in a different line so we could cover as much BBQ variety as possible – different states, different ways to BBQ, then we met back and actually were able to eat at a table! (Many people opt for getting one plate of BBQ and eating it while standing in line at the next!) We stuck directly with the ‘cue, we passed by the sides and desserts – we wanted to savor the pitmasters creations alone. Brisket, ribs, sausage, pull pork & hog! Below are the masters and the BBQ that they served up! Let’s just say we could have used many more napkins and a package of floss but we left with a new appreciation for the art of BAR B*E CUE! If you couldn't make it to this ‘cue fest many of their offering can be delivered to your door and you can create your own feast minus the lines! The thing about this BBQ is it’s all delicious – some prefer the NC thin vinegar sauce style, other swear by rubs. We can say one thing for sure everything we tasted was very fine eating!
