Fresh condiments & jams do not even resemble their supermarket versions. Our resources make their products with the real stuff as if you made it in your kitchen. To savor the flavors of real jam or terrific salsas & relishes, etc without the work, click on the resources below. We also included wonderful homemade peanut butter sources because fresh jam and homemade peanut butter is one of life's greatest simple pleasures. lemon bird Handmade Jams - You can actually taste the love that goes into these jams. Amy Deaver makes them in the french tradition - small batches, only fruits at their peak of the season from local farmers enhanced by spices from around the world. The flavor combinations create savory and sweet delights. Don't limit these jams to your toast, pair them with cheeses, meats - create appetizers with them. We tried Fig with honey & cinnamon and Kumquat with Dark chocolate & Espresso. Both delicious - the latter being very decadent! Simply packaged - we just loved them.
Sunchowder's Emporia - Fresh Fruit Jams made with hand ground spices, and sugar no pectin, corn syrup or any additives. We sampled a few flavors and just loved the bright fruit flavors and interesting flavor combinations. The jam jars are nicely adorned with a paper topper reminiscent of the fabric used in your "grandma's" jam. The interesting spice in many of the jams makes them ideal for meat glazes.
Harvest Song - Artisanal preserves from Armenia. Silvia Tirakian wanted to be able to share the fresh, natural tastes of her childhood. Their preserves have no pectin, no preservative, all natural. Silvia personally inspects the fruit harvests! We discovered them at the Fancy Food Show '07 . They just introduced Plum, tasted like they were just picked!
Spoon - Melissa Chmelar strongly believes in fresh, local ingredients. Her cafe/catering business using only handpicked, seasonal produce from upstate NY. Now the entire county has access to a few of her creations! She is offering online wonderful jams and baking mixes. We sampled her blueberry jam. Yum - just blueberries and minimal sugar. So good on pancakes or added to yogurt.
Skillet Street Foods - what the heck is bacon jam?...well, it is chef joshua henderson’s invention. He starts with a big bunch of really really good bacon, renders it down...adds a bunch of spices, onions, etc..and lets it simmer for about 6 hours…gives it a quick puree, and blast chill it… bacon jam. Top off your burger, baked potato or spread and add LT! Immediate bacon satisfaction.
Frog Hollow Farm - Chutneys/conserves made with their delicious ripe fruits, a truly wonderful resource.
Colorado Mountain Jams & Jelli - Made with organic fruits from their own organic orchards, all natural, very little sugar. Old fashion jam flavors & wine jellies.
Lou Lou's Garden - With a passion for the organic heirloom fruits, vegetables & herbs that are sustainably grown here in Northern California,their products are entirely hand-made in small batches and follow the seasons. Jams, chutneys, pickles, preserves.
Froehilch's - Homemade from local produce: jams, sauces, chutneys, salsas & preserved vegetables - signature item is their pickled green pear martini pickles!
jam. - Apricot jam made from a very old, organic Blenheim apricot tree in CA. They pick the fruit & preserve it the next day, this yields a jam that we have heard has developed a cult following.
Dundee Fruit - Pacific Northwest fruits & berries, homemade, all natural preserves, fruit in light syrups, fruit in brandy.
Three Brothers Farm - From the Romero's family farm in Louisiana their fresh ripe celeste figs are dried and then cooked with only pure fresh ingredients to produce Fig porto, whole fig preserves,fig conserve & fig/berry preserves & fig syrups.
CMB Sweets - Jams, locally grown seasonal fruits used, made in small batches. Organic when possible. no coloring / preservatives. Wonderful flavors; olallieberry, fig sesame,vanilla-pear, kiwi-lime.
Sarabeth's Kitchen - Award winning jams (famous for her orange-apricot jam).
Kathy Casey Dish D'Lish - Northwest chef's chutneys, spreads, seasonings, and sauces. We first wrote about her products on our visit to Pike Place Market (9/05 email). The site also includes recipes.
Clearbrook Farms - They only use Grade-A fruit to make their preserves, butters, fillings, and sauces. All fruit is grown by small, family-owned farms and the fruit is always the #1 ingredient. They also offer homemade tart shells.
Linn's Fruit Bin Farmstore - Specializing in the olallieberry jam.
June Taylor - The Still Room - Fruit conserves, fruit syrups, fruit butters, sour cherries, and Christmas cake (aka fruit cake).
Carol Hall's Hot Pepper Jelly - Hot pepper jelly/condiments.
Grandma Hoerners - Homemade, organic & natural applesauce (real slices of fruit), preserves, pie filling, fruit spreads.
Blackberry Patch - Fruit treats of the south; jams, sauces, syrups.
School House Kitchen - A family run company, School House Kitchen's proceeds benefit education organization around the county. They produce terrific all natural condiments. Mustards, Chutneys & Dressings. We sampled their Bardshar chutney, mustard & Balsamic Vinaigrette - each one was wonderful! The chutney is spicy and sweet - it totally reinvented the burger we topped with it!! Looking forward to their new spreadable fruit.
Robert Lambert - By award winning author/chef, unique artisan condiments. Preserved fruit, salt-preserved citrus, syrups, sauces. The chocolate sauces are incredible, the unique syrups are wonderful over cheese, yogurt, etc. Try the Black Grapes in Pinot Noir Syrup over pork - heaven!
Fischer & Wieser Foods - Over 50 varieties of jams, jellies.
Hampton Chutney - Althought they do not offer online ordering, their unique Indian inspired chutney's are worth picking up the phone.
Bittersweet Herb Farm - Jams, herbal oils, finishing sauces, herb spice packs - this is a Food411 find at a local craft fair!
The Girl & The Fig - Fig Vinegars, jams, syrup, compotes.
Dalmatia Imports - Fig Spread with Orange 2004 NASFT Gold Medal Winner oustanding jam, preserve, spread or sweet topping.
Berkshire Berries - Handpicked berries for jams, syrups & fresh maple syrup.
Anderson's - Pure Maple syrup, Organic Pure Maple Syrup and Apple Syrup. Family run for over 80 years.....this syrup is delicious. Please do not use the maple flavored stuff in the markets - it does not even taste like the real thing. We loved their syrup - pure delicious maple flavor!
Mountain Fruit Company - Intense Fruit, very low sugar
Paulk Vineyards - Fresh picked grapes for sauces, jams, supplements.
Dorothys - Chokecherry, elderberry, and other exotic fruit jams.
Chukar Cherry Company - Fresh harvested bing cherry jam, sauces, chocolate, pie, cobbler fillings. We found them at the Seattle Pike Market.
Ritrovo - Real black truffle salt & artisan single flower honeys from the Tuscan coast & hill country to produce single flower honeys.
Volcano Island Honey - Organic Hawaiian white honey - a very unique & rare honey.
Ame's Farm - Varietal honeys. They keep 300 hives in 17 locations across Minnesota.. Origin of each jar of honey is searchable in their online database.
Laney Honey - Varietal honey unpasteurized, unfiltered & minimally processed. This is the only way to preserve the distinctive flavors, trace minerals, vitamins, & pollen grains found in honey.
Nelson Family Honey - Pure and unfiltered honey from CA.
The Hampton's Honey - Organic varietal honeys, creamed honey.

Doc Pickle - Homemade, small batch pickles. Full sour, half sour and Sauerkraut, Pickled Black & Green Olives, Pickled Mushrooms, Pickled Tomatoes. Excellent.
Rick's Pickles NYC - Award winning pickles;bread and butter, kirby cucumbers, green beans.
McClure's Pickles - Using family recipes the pickles, relish, mustard and other McClure’s products are made just outside of Detroit, Michigan and in Brooklyn, New York. They use as much local produce in season. Every jar is hand packed, cucumbers hand sliced. Attention is even given to the labels. Soy and vegetables inks with chemical-free plating are used and created with wind-powered electricity.
NYC Pickle Guys - This is a barrel cured pickle. The pickles are made by letting them sit in salt brine with garlic, spices, no preservatives. New pickles, dills, garlic, pickled tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, fresh horseradish, mustard, much more.
Guss's Pickles - Customers come from around the block and around the world to buy these sours, half sours, and green tomatoes from barrels on the sidewalk, still made according to Izzy Guss's original recipes.
Tulocay's Made in Napa Valley - What a find! Delicious homemade fruit condiments, dessert sauces, mustards, marinades, glazes, rubs , vinegars. Fresh flavors of the Napa Valley scream through these products. We were fortunate to taste them - these are products that will make eating at home delicious & easy.
Cool Beans - An all natural white bean dip (spread or condiment). 4 flavors, a great alternative to salsa for a healthy low fat dip, works well as a spread in wraps, as a change from hummus. A great concept from 2 brothers with a passion for food & cool beans, when a product is made with passion is shines through!
Jim Town - Fresh condiments such as chopped olive spread, fig & olive spread, artichokes spreads all fresh made in California.

They start with the bean (not many chocolate makers do) & their bars are individual varietals, single-bean origin chocolate, we tasted both the Ocumare Grand Cru Dark & Madagascare Premium Dark . These bars should be broken into small pieces & enjoyed by melting in your mouth. This is not a "candy" bar to be bitten into! We preferred the Ocumare's smooth, delicate flavor to the strong fruity Madagascar. Both are rich chocolate with complex flavors. A real treat for the true dark chocolate lover. Very high quality.
